Milestones combines specialized eating disorder care with a real-world environment where clients are supported as whole people, not just diagnoses.
Milestones combine specialized eating disorder treatment within a real-world setting. Participants are supported as whole people and are part of their own treatment team!
Milestones has helped individuals and families navigate eating disorder recovery for more than two decades.
Residents are given opportunities to be active participants with their dedicated therapist and nutrition professional. You are part of a therapeutic community with a common purpose: recovery.
A comfortable, fully furnished apartment-style setting provides a “real-life” setting with an “at home” feel and not an institutional one.
You will grocery shop, learn meal preparation, and live a “healthy lifestyle.” With our continued support of our outpatient and alumni programs, you can bring home what you’ve practiced in treatment.
“We teach you how to fish rather than feed you a fish” as the saying goes!
Recovery can be difficult. With the support of a therapeutic community and 24/7 professionals on site, you are not alone.
Our admissions team wants to know your story, what you need, and answer your questions. Our goal is to guide you to what will be the best fit for your needs.
We learn more about your eating disorder, prior treatment experience, related psychological, emotional, social, and medical history, and nutrition needs.
Our team helps you understand coverage, benefits, payment options, and next steps. If another level of care would better serve you, we will help you understand that, too.
If Milestones is a good fit, we guide you through the admissions and scheduling process
It is normal to feel nervous, uncertain, or afraid before reaching out. Our goal is to help you feel heard, respected, and supported from the very first conversation.
During the assessment process, we focus on:
Your recovery can begin with one compassionate conversation.
At Milestones, treatment is not built around a one-size-fits-all model. Our approach helps each person build the structure, emotional support, and real-world skills needed for sustainable recovery.
Your story matters. Your routines matter. Your recovery should feel personal.

“I am just so grateful for finding LIFE through Milestones. Not just a food plan or a “diet” that I was hoping I would get and lose some weight, not just recovery, not just serenity and peace of mind, but LIFE and meaningful relationships.”
-A.
“I cannot thank you enough for the improvements I have seen in my daughter. Every day she seems to be getting a better grasp on her issues. Your program has not been “kind” to her …you have seen and heard all the excuses she has told herself and us,
and you have called her out on them-but she is healing. I am forever grateful.”
-J.S
"However, my treatment & what I learned and reprogrammed at Milestones stays with me… I feel physically, emotionally and spiritually well. It’s all part of the recovery process."
-S.F
Here, recovery happens in everyday moments:
You are not alone.
The first call typically takes anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, depending on your questions.
During this call, the admissions manager collects basic information and walks you through the program, including residential living, the Freedom Food Plan, and what a typical day looks like.
After the initial call, a New Patient Intake Assessment is sent for completion.
A Pre-Assessment is then scheduled and reviewed by the clinical and medical team to ensure the program is the right fit.
The typical turnaround is about one week, depending on scheduling and travel arrangements.
There are no standard requirements, though additional records may be requested on a case-by-case basis.
There is currently no waiting list. Most patients can begin treatment within about a week.
A detailed packing list is provided during the admissions process covering all required and restricted items.
The first day includes orientation, meeting staff, settling in, and beginning intake with the clinical team.
Yes, family can participate in early stages, but patients complete intake privately once on site.
Care levels are adjusted based on clinical evaluation and insurance coordination as needed.
Constant thoughts about food, eating when you’re not hungry, feeling out of control around certain foods? Our clinicians created this short self-assessment to help you see how your relationship with food is affecting your life, and whether Milestones may be a good fit for you.
