- or specialized eating disorder behavioral health services.
Geographic Area Covered
The study area included the Florida peninsula south of (and including) the Tampa Bay region.

- Northern boundary: Tampa / Wesley Chapel region
- Southern boundary: Miami-Dade County
- Western boundary: Gulf Coast (Tampa, Clearwater, Sarasota, Fort Myers)
- Eastern boundary: Atlantic Coast (Stuart, West Palm Beach, Broward County, Miami)
The review therefore covered:
- Tampa Bay
- Southwest Florida
- Treasure Coast
- Palm Beach County
- Broward County
- Miami-Dade County
Research Methodology
The ranking process used a multi-step methodology combining Google Business searches with cross-referencing from treatment directories and provider websites.
Step 1 — Google Search Queries
Initial searches were performed using combinations of the following search terms:
- “eating disorder treatment center Florida”
- “eating disorder clinics south Florida”
- “eating disorder treatment Tampa”
- “eating disorder residential treatment Florida”
- “eating disorder clinics south of Tampa”
- “South Florida eating disorder treatment center”
- “Florida eating disorder residential program”
These searches were used to identify facilities with dedicated eating disorder programming.
Step 2 — Cross-Checking Treatment Directories
Additional treatment directories and provider websites were reviewed to identify facilities that might not immediately appear in standard local business searches.

Step 3 — Verification Through Google Business Listings
Each identified facility was then individually checked against Google Business listing data to verify:
- the Google star rating,
- review count,
- and business category.
Facilities without identifiable or verifiable Google Business listings were excluded from ranking.

While some facilities had larger total review counts, no other identified specialized eating disorder center in the study area had a higher verified Google rating.
