Within the past few years there has been a growing contingent of scientists exploring the neurological elements of addiction.
This one day seminar will focus on identifying the part of the brain responsible for impulse control, judgement and intellectual understanding most impaired with a SUD. Dr. Marty Lerner,Ph.D., CEO of Milestones will be presenting along with Molly Carmel, LCSW-R, the Founder of The Beacon Program in New York and Laurie Tollman, LCSW, LCAS who has practiced in the field of mental health and substance abuse for over 15 years.
This presentation is geared to physicians, nurse practitioners, mental health professionals, school counselors and other professionals interested in this subject.
The presentation will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at MAHEC – Mary C. Nesbitt Biltmore Campus, 121 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, NC 28803. Registration is 8:00 am to 8:30 am. Presentations are from 8:30 am to 11:45 am.
The fee is $50 per person, $40 per person for groups of 5 or more from the same agency or paying at the same time and $25 per person for students (proof of enrollment is required at check-in).
