I am so grateful for the M, T, Th, and Sunday online zoom meetings that are provided for the alumni of Milestones in Recovery. I began attending these meetings at the start of the pandemic, and I have felt very connected with other alumni. The attendees have become my friends – each and every one of them “gets it” – knows what it’s like to have an eating disorder, and we all recognize what we must do to stay well. It’s comforting to know that I’m not doing this alone. Recently, an additional alumni, Bonnie, joined our meetings, and she organizes inspiring topics, offers speaker meetings, and adds creativity to what had become an occasional “gripe fest.” She has made a huge difference in making recovery enjoyable! I look forward to these meetings where my friends gather, we onnect, we share our highs and lows, and on the bright side, for me, I am not isolating – a recipe for relapse. The staff at Milestones cares about each and every one of us. They keep track of us after we leave their treatment center, and they encourage our continuation of recovery. Three cheers for Milestones in Recovery – an extraordinary place to get well from eating disorders!
